How my career began

My career began in retail banking when I joined Clydesdale Bank and I spent the first few years in various branches and the branch support function, before moving to Leeds to be part of the group collections function servicing all four of the group’s European brands (Clydesdale, Yorkshire, Northern & National Irish Banks).

This gave me my first introduction to Debt Manager and its configuration. I chose to move back to Glasgow four years later and gain experience in project work, including preparation for the introduction of the Euro and a large-scale systems replacement project. The latter provided the opportunity to work in Australia for a short time.

Why I moved to Arum

I found out about Arum from a colleague who told me about a recruitment advert which was looking for individuals with experience using and configuring Debt Manager. After a telephone chat and the interview process, I accepted the role on offer. My Arum career began in January 2008 when there were only eight others in the company.

During the past 13 years, I have worked for many varied clients across the length and breadth of the UK, from retail banks to utility companies to the public sector. I also had the opportunity to deliver a training course in Bratislava for an international short-term credit business.

What I love about working here

I really enjoy delivering a good job for our clients, and no two days are ever the same which is part of what keeps me motivated.

Although I have seen a number of changes to the business during my time with Arum, the one theme that has remained constant throughout, is that we are all one team and will help each other whenever and wherever needed.

I’m looking forward to seeing the different ways in which the company will expand in the future and being part of that journey.
